Jump onto the airflow for two thrilling 60 second body flying sessions and get a true feel for the sensation of freefall, without having to plummet from an aircraft. Kick off with a full safety briefing before being issued with a specially-designed flight suit in preparation for the session. Next, step into the wind tunnel and let the 120 mph, vertical wall of wind send you upwards, with a fully qualified instructor on hand to offer tips and encouragement at all times. Availability: At least one weekday and one weekend date every month throughout the year. The centre is closed on Christmas Day but operates on bank holidays. Weather: The tunnel is indoors and isn't affected by the weather. Duration: Expect to be onsite for around one and a half hours, including 20 min safety briefing, kit issue (15 mins), two 60 second body flying sessions each and a full debrief. The time given is your report time, please check in no more than five minutes before. Numbers On Day: Your training may be shared in a group of up to 12. Your flights are held on a one-to-one basis with just you and your fully-qualified instructor in the wind tunnel - you won't jump together, but you can watch each other's flights from the gallery. Spectators: Spectators are welcome and can watch the all action from the free viewing gallery. Facilities at the venue are excellent and make for a good family visit. Dress Code: No jewellery or collared shirts. Please wear tight-fitting lace-up trainers (not boots). If you don't wear suitable footwear you'll be required to hire and wear trainers. Jumpsuit and other equipment is provided. Lockers 1 pound. Guidelines: Exit at junction 14 of M1 and take A509 towards Central Milton Keynes. At first roundabout take second exit H6 Childs Way. Stay on road over next five roundabouts (Xscape building is now on your right). At sixth roundabout (South Secklow roundabout) turn right. At first set of traffic lights turn right onto Avebury Boulevard, Airkix and Xscape is now on your right with pay and display parking for over a thousand cars (cost approx 80p per hour). Restrictions: Min age 4. Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult. Max weight 18st. Anyone who's reasonably fit, can fly. If you're pregnant, have heart, back or neck problems or have ever dislocated a shoulder you can't fly. Other Info: It is vital to arrive no later than the allocated time printed on your booking letter. The actual flights occur up to one hour after the allocated booked time to allow for an essential safety briefing before stepping into the tunnel.
