Red Letter Days Product Information
There's nothing like the feeling of being soaked to the skin after an invigorating white water raft ride. You and seven friends can experience the thrill of taking on the breathtaking twists and turns of the mighty River Tay, Scotland, a river that has been graded between 1 - 3 on the UK's white water rafting grading system (which starts with one being the calmest river with very small rough areas, and six being too rough to offer commercially). Whether you're a first timer or have been white water rafting before, your instructor will give you a full safety briefing and kit you out in the necessary equipment before you and your teammates steer your eight person raft along some of Scotland's best white water.

Availability: Selected weekends from April to November. Spring and autumn are the best times to raft, as water levels are higher than in the drier summer months. Summer weekends fill quickly - book six to eight weeks in advance. Weather: Rafting will go ahead in almost all conditions. Although extremely rare, certain weather conditions may lead to postponement for safety reasons. If this happens, the venue will call you within 24 hours on the last minute contact number you provide. Duration: Your session will last for around two hours from initial introduction to a debrief. Please arrive a few minutes early to register and change, and allow for time afterwards to shower and change. Numbers On Day: Your raft can hold up to eight people, plus a qualified instructor. You'll need a minimum of six rafters on board to balance the raft. Spectators: Spectators are welcome, but please call the venue in advance to advise them of numbers. Viewing is limited due to the nature of the course and spectators might have to wait for you at the starting point. Dress Code: Bring swimwear, a towel, old tracksuit/leggings, a sweatshirt and old trainers. You will get wet! Wetsuits and helmets are provided, plus jackets and cagouls if required. Ideally glasses should be removed, if not they must be secured with elastic. Guidelines: Take the Aberfeldy junction off the A9 (22 miles north of Perth) and follow the A827 to Grandtully. Freespirits staff will meet you at the rafting centre. This is located next to the Riverside Inn, which is on your right hand side as you drive through Grandtully. Restrictions: Minimum age is 10. You must be confident in the water but you don't need to be able to swim as buoyancy aids are provided for everyone. Any medical conditions must be declared before booking and the venue reserves the right to test your fitness. Other Info: You WILL get wet, but there are hot shower facilities at the venue. You might be expected to jump from the raft into still practice waters as part of your initial training session.
