The wood provides the course with all the resources to make your camp and practice your wilderness bushcraft techniques. The wood is very secluded and offers a fantastic sense of isolation and is the perfect teaching environment for those beginning wilderness bushcraft Itinerary: The course starts at 7pm Friday evening and finishes midday Sunday. Teams will be taught basic survival techniques including lighting fires by friction, different shelter building techniques and alternative cooking methods. Also teams will learn about construction of traps and snares and the safe use of cutting tools. Early on Saturday a woodland sauna will be available for use. Outdoor hygiene is provided. This is a great opportunity to learn straight from the experts how to drive three types of race boat, hydroplanes, catamarans and monohulls. In the hydroplanes you either kneel or lie flat on your stomach. The day will start at 9:00 with registration and tea and coffee. At 09.30 you will be officially welcomed, given a drivers briefing and introduction to the sport. Between 10:00 and 11:00 there will be an introduction to the boats, followed by practice driving until a buffet lunch at 1:00pm. From 2:00 - 5:00pm you will have practical race training, ending with afternoon tea, presentation of certificates and a memento of the day. During the day you are likely to do a total of 20+ laps, with each lap being just under a mile in length so you will cover quite a distance! When can you go?
